While it is true that the labour movement has made strides in occupational health and safety in recent years, prevention continues to be a daily challenge, especially in an increasingly competitive world that has become obsessed with productivity and profit.

Only a strong, organized union that works in solidarity,that forms close ties and communicates regularly with its members, that prioritizes health and safety, and that is equipped with a vision and strategies as well as a capacity for true leadership, will be able to improve occupational health and safety.
